Entertainment
Birthday Bags
One of the main features of the big blue birthday bash event is the birthday bags that give you access to a birthday trail where you get treats at the end of every show to go in your branded birthday bag as seen in the image bellow as well as cupcake decorating. The birthday bags are an upcharge of £3 when you buy online in advance or £5 on when you bye on the day of your visit. When arriving at Drayton Manor you can buy/collect your birthday bag from the Thomas Land gift shop located in Thomas Land. Please note: there may be a short wait to get the sweets at the end of the shows I found it easier by going to the area just after the show had finished for Sir Topham’s Birthday Treats and Lory’s crazy conger as the line was then not long.

cupcake decorating
It is not a birthday without cake we after collecting our birthday bags we headed straight to the castle located opposite pizza and pasta. In order to enter the castle simply show your birthday bag to the member of staff on the entrance Upon entering the castle we walked through an entry way that had been decorated with blue streamers and birthday banners before entering the cupcake decorating room. where we were able to decorate a cupcake with lots of different sweets and sprinkles as seen in the images bellow and of course eat the cupcake there were not any little boxes to take your cupcake away in so I recommend eating it straight away. cupcake decorating is available from 11am till 4pm.
The cupcake decorating took place in the castle that is fully level and wheelchair accessible. I was a little nervous as when we last went in the castle it was for a different event and the queue was to long so this time we headed straight their for a less crowded experience. In terms of sensory their was no music on making it nice and quiet however there were blue themed lighting as seen in the images bellow as well as birthday decorations like balloons and banners.

Celebration Show
To celebrate Thomas the Tank Engine birthday a new for 2025 celebration show is taking place throughout the day on the Thomas Land balcony featuring Sir Topham Hat as well as Rusty and Dusty. The show was all themed around celebrating a birthday where the audience had to help make doughnuts by joining in with the songs and dances.

Sir Topham’s Birthday Treats
Straight after the celebration show on the Thomas Land balcony head to Sir Topham Hats yellow house in order to get a photograph with the Rusty Dusty and Sir Topham Hat as well as some sweets in your birthday bag if you have purchased one. As you can see from the images bellow the yellow house is located at the very front of Thomas Land can be accessed through the left hand archway entering Thomas Land.

Lory’s Crazy Conger
Located on the outdoor stage next to Accselorater Lory is ready for some party fun the show includes singing and party dances as well audience participation. At the end of the show you can have a meet and greet with Lory next to the Frontier Falls sign as well as some sweets in your birthday bag if you have purchased one. This show is weather permitting due to it being outside however, we went on a very cold day and Lory’s show still happened.

Rory’s Bubble Bash
Located in the falls theatre Rory has a brand new stage show to get everyone in the party spirit where Rory will teach the audience some much loved party dances and the audience are encouraged to come down to the front of the theatre and have a dance. Thought the show a lever is pressed triggering a big bubble machine at ever end of the stage the more you dance the more bubbles come. The show finishes with Rory doing a meet and greet as well as giving you some sweets for you birthday bag if you have purchased one. The show takes place in the Frontier falls theatre that is normally used for 4D shows however, Rory has taken over for his party. The show runs just 2 times a day and can be very popular so I recommend getting there 15 minutes before especially if you struggle with mobility as there is only one row of seats that are not up stairs.
In terms of access, the theatre is like a standard cinema room and there are wheelchair spaces available on each end of the from row as seen in the images bellow. Buggies and prams are not allowed in the show however, my mobility aid was allowed. It is very noisy in the theatre and music plays before the show begins there is disco lights however, the main lights staid on full and there were lots of bubbles as well. As the audience were encouraged to come to the front and dance there is no pressure to stay sat in your seat. There is no easy access for the theatre and you may have to wait inside the room pictured bellow before being let in to the theatre.

Rides and Attractions
Thomas Land
Thomas Land is the main feature of the big blue birthday bash featuring many rides and attractions themed around everyone’s favourite train television program and book series. The ride has a lap bar restraint and is quite high up the only sensory effect is some quiet on board audio.

Bertie Bus
Bertie bus is a simple but effective ride that simply goes up and round as seen in the images bellow Bertie Bus goes high allowing you to get a good view of Thomas Land. Guests under 1.05 meters must be accompanied by an adult and there is maximum 1 adult per row on Bertie Bus.
In terms of access, the easy access pass entrance is located at the ride exit gate as seen in the images bellow and is level however, there is quite a big lip/step to get into Bertie bus. This ride uses a lap bar restraint and there are no sensory effects on this ride.

Blue Mountain Engines
Blue Mountain Engines is a roundabout style ride that rotates clockwise around a humped tracked. The ride has no hight restriction however, guest under 0.9m must be accompanied by an adults. The ride features train sound effects as you go round.
In terms of access, the easy access entrance for Blue Mountain Engines is located at the ride exit and has level access as seen in the images bellow. Blue Mountain Engines uses a seatbelt on the ride and then a gate on each ride vehicle. The ride features train sound effects as you go round so something to bare in mind sensory wise.

Cranky’s Drop Tower
Cranky’s drop tower is a children drop tower ride that goes up and down with a minimum hight restriction of just 1.05 meters. The ride gives you a good view of surrounding attractions and is a great choice for little ones who like bigger mor thrilling ride although the ride is aimed at children so not that thrilling.
In terms of access, the easy access entrance is located at the ride exit and is fully level although the seats are raised of the floor I have no difficulty getting on to the seat like I do on most drop towers. The ride uses an over the shoulder restrain that ca be seen in he images bellow making it a great option for children to get used to this style of restraint before they goon bigger rides. In terms of sensory, Cranky’s drop tower is very loud as makes a loud noise every time the ride drops I highly recommend ear defenders.

Diesel’s Locomotive Mayhem
Diesel’s Locomotive Mayhem is a spinning car ride where the platforms rotate in circles a little bit like a teacup style ride. There is o minimum hight restriction for Diesel’s Locomotive Mayhem however, under 1.2 meters must be accompanied by an adult.
In terms of access, the easy access entrance for Diesel’s Locomotive Mayhem is located at the ride exit and is fully level. The ride uses a seatbelt and lap bar restraint and has no sensory effects just spins you round perfect for sensory seekers.

Lady’s Carousel
Lady’s Carousel is a mini under Carousel that goes round slowly in circle perfect for little ones. There is no minimum hight restriction for Lady’s Carousel however, guests under 0.9 meters must be accompanied by an adult.
In terms of access, the easy access entrance for Lady’s Carousel is located at the ride exit an is fully level however, there is a big step up to get on to the Carousel and to get into the ride vehicle as seen in the images bellow. Lady’s Carousel uses seatbelts and a gate on each ride vehicle the seats are quite small but can fit one adult per carriage. In terms of sensory when Lady’s Carousel sets of it makes a loud sound so I recommend ear defenders.

engine tours
Located in Tomas Land you can take a ride with Thomas, Rosie and Percy down to the zoo. Although the zoo is quite small it features a number of animals including red pandas, flamingos and owls. there is a café, Thomas themed playground and dinosaur trial also located where you get of the train. The trains come every 20 minutes you are also able to walk if you do not want to get the train. The train is a one way ride you will need to wait for the next train if you would like to go straight back.
In terms of access. You enter via the exit at both stations for the engine tours. There is a wheelchair accessible carriage on the train allowing you to stay in your wheelchair during the ride. I was a little worried how long we would need to wait as the engine tour have a slow through put compared to other attractions and are very popular. I had nothing to worry about as during our experience they let all easy access users on to the train as long you arrive before the train starts boarding.

Accselorater
Accselorater is a fun family boomage coaster this means you go backwards and forwards around the track. With just a minimum hight restriction of 1 meter when accompanied by adult it makes for a great family coaster. Please note: Accselorater can not operate in very cold temperatures so there may be a delay opening for example, Accselorater didn’t manage to open on our visit until the afternoon.
In terms of access, there is step free or as the park refers to it wheelchair access available via the ride exit located through the photo booth as seem in the images bellow. The easy access entrance is located to the left of the photobooth near the mane queue as shown in the images bellow. It is just a lap bar on this ride and in my experience I do find the ride vehicle very low down so something to bare in mind when getting on and off Accselorater. During the ride itself when you reach the top of the track there is some sound effects through a speaker that are quite loud. Don’t worry in my experience ear defenders can stay on for the ride however, glasses have to be removed unless you have a glasses strap.
